Septic System Maintenance

Proper care of your Septic System can extend the life of your Septic. Restrict the use of garbage disposals. Keep Non-degradable material out of your septic system. Never flush down cat litter, disposable diapers, wet wipes, sanitary napkins, tampons, paper towels, facial tissue, coffee grounds or cigarette butts into your septic. They will clog your Septic System. Do not put pesticides, paints, paint thinner, solvents, disinfectants, poisons or other household chemicals down the drain. This can kill the micro organisms that help break down the sewage in the tank and are a hazard to ground water. DO NOT add commercial products or yeast to your system. Additives do not improve how well your system works. The only bacteria you septic needs comes from 
YOUR DIGESTIVE SYSTEM.

TANKS NEED TO BE PUMPED EVERY 2-5 YEARS.
